Breaking: Star goaltender out until at least March, perhaps more.

The Los Angeles Kings have just received some more bad news regarding their star goaltender Jonathan Quick.

Quick has been sidelined as a result of a major groin injury and while the Kings were managing to stay within striking distance of the playoffs without him, they were eager for his return, a return that was projected to be some time in February.

That will no longer be the case and in fact in speaking to Los Angeles Kings insider Jon Rosen earlier today, Kings general manager Dean Lombardi admitted that Quick would not be back until at least March, and even then that would be the earliest possible estimate at this point.

Quick has not resumed skating at all just yet, and Lombardi admitted that Quick was still a ways off from actually getting on the ice and facing shots again to test his injured groin.

You have to wonder if the Kings won't consider shutting Quick down for the season if his recovery continues to progress this poorly.
