Andrew Desjardins of the Chicago Blackhawks was injured during the preseason and was placed on IR for the first few weeks of the 2016-2017 NHL regular season.

It was estimated that he would be out for 4-6 weeks due to an lower body injury after blocking a powerful shot versus the Nashville predators.

It has been about three weeks since the report came out and it seems like Desjardins is doing much better as he joins his teammates for practice this morning.

It was announced that there is a good chance Desjardins will be able to return next weekend as the Blackhawks play back to back games versus the Dallas Stars.

Until then cheer on the Chicago Blackhawks as they take on the Calgary Flames tomorrow at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. (ET).
