We have a huge trade rumor to report.

While there has been speculation that the Buffalo Sabres will look to trade Evander Kane this season, for the first time we have a concrete report from one of the National Hockey League's top insiders.

During a segment of TSN's Insider Trading on Tuesday, TSN insider Pierre LeBrun revealed that the Sabres have told rival NHL teams that they are prepared to go the extra mile in order to facilitate a trade involving Kane.

"I think all things being equal he will finally move," said Lebrun.

"Buffalo has started to tell teams and will continue to do so that they are willing to eat some of Evander Kane's $5,250,000 salary in order to facilitate a trade."

Despite his off-ice issues Kane remains one of the NHL's truly elite players, and he is once again putting that on full display this season despite the overall poor performance from his team. Kane has 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points in 24 games this season, and he appears to be on pace for the best season of his NHL career at 26-years-old, potentially just entering his prime.

Any contending team adding Kane to their roster would have to be immediately considered one of the favorites to win it all this season.
