Breaking: Superstar captain ruled OUT for home opener

Bad news for the Anaheim Ducks. The team announced prior to their season opener against the Arizona Coyotes that captain Ryan Getzlaf will not be in uniform tonight. 

The star forward suffers from a lower-body injury and did not take part in the team's morning skate. 

This morning, the Ducks recalled left wing Giovanni Fiore from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Let's hope Getzlaf is back in the fold as soon as possible.
