BREAKING: Superstar Goaltender Returns
Keystone Press

It looks as though the Chicago Blackhawks can count on their Stanley Cup-winning and superstar goaltender Corey Crawford returning shortly.

The netminder laced up his skates and took to the ice for practice this morning with his teammates for the first time since undergoing an appendectomy on December 3rd, which signifies that his two- to three-week timetable initially given by doctors was accurate.

Joel Quenneville told reporters that Crawford should get some playing time on Friday as the Blackhawks take on the Colorado Avalanche.

For now, Coach Q has opted to give Scott Darling the nod against the visiting Ottawa Senators tonight at the United Center (8:30pm ET).

Darling has had an outstanding season thus far, as the 6'6" hulking goalie has a 10-2-0 record to go along with his 2.22 goals-against average and .927 save percentage.
