Breaking: Surprise update on the injured Claude Giroux.

This is big news for fans of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Despite original projections having him out for at least 10-12 weeks it appears that Flyers star Claude Giroux is already back out on the ice, well ahead of schedule, as he attempts to get back in to game shape for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey where he will represent Team Canada.

According to a report from NHL.com Giroux was back on the ice Wednesday which would put him more than a full week ahead of the minimum projected time for recovery, but after playing through the injuries late last season, it's likely Giroux is extremely motivated to get back out there.

He likely still has a long way to go to get back to 100%, but this is certainly a terrific sign for Philadelphia.
