We have a major injury to report.

An official report from the Edmonton Oilers has revealed that defenseman Darnell Nurse, the Oilers first round draft pick(7th overall) in 2013 has suffered a major ankle injury, one that required surgery.

General manager Peter Chiarelli is now reporting that Nurse has undergone succesful surgery to repair damage to both both as well as ligament and the recovery time for Nurse is now projected at a staggering twelve weeks.

There is no sugarcoating this announcement from the Oilers, this is nothing short of a complete disaster for a team that doesn't have a great deal of depth anchor their blue line in the case of injuries to players like this, especially not for such a huge length of time.
