Breaking: Talented young defenseman might be done for the season.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have performed well despite the absence of one of their top players as forward Evgeni Malkin recovers from injury, but the team appears to have suffered another big hit to their roster.

According to multiple reports the Penguins have lost defenseman Olli Maatta to a lower body injury he suffered during Thursday night's match up against the New Jersey Devils. The injury is one that could potentially force him to miss the remainder of the regular season. It's another troubling sign for the young Maatta and the Penguins as the young defenseman has already missed significant time due to multiple injuries, and one that again raises questions about Maatta's durability.

There has been no timetable given for Maatta's recovery, the Penguins have only stated that he is currently listed as week to week with the injury, and one has to wonder if it could impact the post season as well.
