Team announce SUPERSTAR defenseman out 4 to 6 months before entering the playoffs

The bane of so many teams, the one word that can sweep contender status out from under suddenly and violently: injuries. That’s a word becoming all too familiar in Pittsburgh, and today is unfortunately no exception.

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced terrible news this morning regarding their superstar defenseman Kris Letang.

Kris Letang will undergo surgery for a herniated disc in his neck. The recovery period is expected to be 4–6 months

Considering the Penguins also have Oli Maatta out of the lineup with injuries as well, the sooner Daley can make his return, the better.

The 29-year-old veteran blueliner was put on the shelf late in February due to an upper-body injury. He had 5 goals and 29 assists for 34 points in 41 games this season.
