We have a trade rumor completely out of left field.

According to a breaking news report from Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman, the Ottawa Senators have reportedly placed their goaltender, Andrew Hammond, on the trading block. The move has reportedly been prompted by the fact that the Senators believe they can net a good return with several teams in need of goaltending help.

The problem of course is that since his incredible breakout performance with the Senators Hammond has struggled to find his game. In fact in just two games this season he has an almost comical save percentage of .793 and a 4.50 goals against average to go along with that.

The positives for Hammond though are obvious, he has playoff experience, he has shown that at least in the past he can play at a high level, and most importantly of all he carries a cap hit of just $1.35 million per season for this season and one more after that.

It's unclear if this will go anywhere but if Friedman says Hammond is being shopped you can take that all the way to the bank.
