Breaking: Team North America names it's captain.

Could this be a precursor to him being named a captain in the National Hockey League?

According to a reporting from TSN's James Mirtle Team North America has selected it's captain for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, and that man will be Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid.

When you consider that this team is populated with players under the age of 23 it should come as little surprise that a player as dynamic and gifted as McDavid would be at least a candidate for the job.

It's also notable that the head coach of the team is current Edmonton Oilers head coach Todd McLellan so you could see why some would speculate that this is preparation for the role he is expected to take on for that organization sooner or later.
