Breaking: Team puts star goaltender on injured reserve.

The New Jersey Devils came out of the gate red hot with one of the most exciting young teams in the National Hockey League but they have just hit a major roadblock.

On Thursday night goaltender Cory Schneider was hurt and as a result was pulled from the game early, but now thanks to an official announcement from the New Jersey Devils, we know he is expected to miss more time. 

The Devils have revealed that Schenider is headed to injured reserve, indicating that he will miss a minimum of seven days as a result of the "lower-body injury" he suffered during the game. 

As a result the Devils will be recalling goaltender Scott Wedgewood from the American Hockey League on an emergency basis.
