Breaking: Team will travel without their #1 goalie after brutal performance.

We have a very interesting situation developing in St. Louis.

The St. Louis blues have made the decision to leave their starting goaltender, Jake Allen, at home as they head out on their next road trip, this after Allen has had a series of brutal performances in his last few games. This is particularly significant when you consider that the next home game for the Blues will be on January 31st, nearly two weeks away.

Allen has been yanked in his last three outings and his numbers have dropped to an unacceptable .897 save percentage and 2.85 goals against average in 34 appearances this season.

The Blues are spinning this as a rest for Allen and insist that he remains their number one option between the pipes, but even they have to know that this looks like a complete loss of faith in Allen's abilities to give them solid goaltending.
