Breaking: Teams swap depth in player for player deal..

While the things have been very quiet on the trade front this season in the National Hockey League  we are now starting to see a number of minor moves that could be precursors to the bigger deals to come.

On Wednesday the Edmoton Oilers annouced that they had acquired 22-year-old center Henrik Samuelsson from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for 22-year-old left winger Mitch Moroz.

Samuelsson was a first round draft pick of the Coyotes in 2012 (27th overall) but despite his draft pedigree has only earned himself a spot in three career NHL games thus far. Samuelsson has played in 20 games this season all with Arizona's American Hockey League affiliate the Tucson Roadrunners.

Moroz was drafted in the second round of the same draft when he was selected 32nd overall by the Oilers and much like Samuelsson he hasn't been able to crack the NHL roster. Moroz has yet to play in the National Hockey League spending his past three season in the AHL.

The Coyotes were part of another four player deal earlier today which you can read about here.
