Breaking: The Blackhawks have acquired a forward prior to the deadline!

The Chicago Blackhawks have annoucned a trade.

According to an official report from the team general manager Stan Bowman has completed a trade with the Detroit Red Wings, one that will send veteran forward Tomas Jurco to the Blackhawks in exchnage for a third round draft choice in 2017.

It's honestly been somewhat of a rough year for Jurco in Detroit having only appeared in 16 games for the club over the course of the regular season thus far, but obviously Bowman believes that his organization can help Jurco bounce back and become a contributor for the playoffs.

A third round pick isn't a great deal to give up either considering that by all accounts this will be a weak draft and Chicago will be relatively high ranked in the standings further diminishing the value of the pick.
