The Washington Capitals are trying to break their five-game losing streak tonight as they are facing the San Jose Sharks, who have lost their last three consecutive contests, however, both team will need to step it up if they want a convincing win.

The game started with the Sharks taking the lead in the first 12 seconds of the game as Joe Pavelski recorded his 27th tally of the season. And it was just the start. As the second period came to an end minutes ago, the Caps lead the Sharks 5-4, and yeah, the game isn't over.

The Sharks managed to cut the Caps' lead in the second period when Logan Couture went in, unassisted to score the fourth of the game for San Jose. We make sure you know it was unassisted despite the fact that the Sharks went in a 3-0 breakaway and Couture fooled Braden Holtby.

Am I watching the NHL right now?

Fans on Twitter were quick to point out that we rarely see a 3-0 breakaway and that both the Caps and Sharks looked like they were playing for a beer league... They also mentioned that goaltenders Martin Jones and Holtby weren't looking great out there...

I mean, sure, Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has recorded two goals so far in the game, but the rest of the team needs to get it together.

Come on Sharks and Capitals, give us a better show for the remainder of the contest, please.
