Huge trade confirmed on Saturday!

Why would the team willingly part with a roster player and expect little in return? As with most questions in life, the answer comes down to money. Marcus Kruger carries a cap hit just north of $3 million and the Hawks are projected to be roughly $4 million OVER the NHL’s salary cap.

According to Steven Albritton of KMBC the Vegas Golden Knights have acquired forward Marcus Kruger from the Chicago Blackhawks. Albritton, Anchor at KMBC now and KATCTV3 tweeted the following earlier on Saturday:

#NHL news for #Blackhawks fans … looks like they are sending #MarcusKruger to Las Vegas. I’m told it’s a done deal. Details coming soon"

By moving Kruger’s salary to the Golden Knights, the Hawks provide themselves with some instant cap relief. More details to come as we don't know yet what is the returning price for the Hawks.
