Huge trade confirmed on Saturday!
Why would the team willingly part with a roster player and expect little in return? As with most questions in life, the answer comes down to money. Marcus Kruger carries a cap hit just north of $3 million and the Hawks are projected to be roughly $4 million OVER the NHL’s salary cap.
According to Steven Albritton of KMBC the Vegas Golden Knights have acquired forward Marcus Kruger from the Chicago Blackhawks. Albritton, Anchor atnow and tweeted the following earlier on Saturday:
“news for fans … looks like they are sending to Las Vegas. I’m told it’s a done deal. Details coming soon"
By moving Kruger’s salary to the Golden Knights, the Hawks provide themselves with some instant cap relief. More details to come as we don't know yet what is the returning price for the Hawks.
