The Chicago Blackhawks Have Yet Relieved Another Coach

Major Clean up in Chicago today as they decided to relieve Ted Dent, Head Coach of the Rockford IceHogs, from his duties. Dent posted a 221-179-33-21 record in six seasons as Head Coach of the IceHogs.

The Chicago Blackhawks thank Ted for all of his contributions throughout his tenure with the organization,” Chicago Blackhawks Senior Vice President and General Manager Stan Bowman said. “He played a major role in helping a number of players reach the NHL level with the Chicago Blackhawks, many of whom became Stanley Cup champions. We wish Ted and his family the best.” As per the official website of the team.

It wasn’t a surprise then when associate coach Mike Kitchen was relieved of his duties on Monday morning. Who was surprised, however, was the team’s head coach and Kitchen’s long-time friend Joel Quenneville.

Things are moving fast in Chicago these days.
