The Detroit Red Wings assigned a forward to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Red wings announced on their twitter account that forward Evgeny Svechnikov was assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The 2015 19th overall pick didn’t get any points in his two games with the wings, but he scored the winning goal in shootout against the Sens on Monday. He played an average of thirteen minutes in those two games against Ottawa. He will finish his rookie season with Grand Rapids who already have a playoff spot and are currently first in their division. Svechnikov has 44 points, 18 goals and 56 penalty minutes trough 68 games.

The young winger is a great offensive player with good hands and a great shot. He has a lot of talent and the team will keep an eye on him during the AHL playoffs, him who only played two games in last year’s postseason. The Griffins could go far in the playoffs this years, enough for the 20 y/o to show what he can do.
