You never want to wish ill on anyone, but frankly this player being out of the National Hockey League may be in the best interest of every other player in the league.

While it's not yet official, it appears that the NHL career of reviled forward Raffi Torres may have reached it's conclusion following an announcement from the Carolina Hurricanes today. Torres had joined the Hurricanes in training camp on a professional tryout but on Thursday he was among the names announced that had been cut from the roster.

At his current age, and with both health and discipline issues being a major red flag for any NHL team it seems extremely unlikely that Torres will find his way onto another NHL roster, although it's not entirely impossible.

If this is the end for Torres his career will have spanned 635 games in which he recorded 137 goals and 123 assists, however it will be his reckless hits that endangered the health of his fellow players that will be his legacy.

Here's a look back at one of his more infamous moments.
