The Los Angeles Kings have just announced a trade.

In an official announcement via the team's website, the Kings have revealed they have acquired the rights to forward Bokondji Imama from the Tampa Bay Lightning. From the Kings official announcement:

The LA Kings have acquired the rights to unsigned draft choice Bokondji "Boko" Imama (boh-khan-JEE, ih-MA-ma) from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for the Kings seventh-round selection in the 2018 NHL Draft, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced today.

The trade is conditioned on the Kings signing Imama to an NHL contract before Thursday's (June 1) 2 p.m. PT signing deadline.

Imama was drafted by the Lightning however he never signed a contract with that organization despite coming off a huge season this year with the QMJHL's St. John's Sea Dogs. In the 2016-2017 campaign Imama recorded a whopping 41 goals and 14 assists in just 66 games, making him the team's leading scorer.

While the Kings now own his rights, they will need to sign him to a new deal if they want to add him to their roster.
