BREAKING: The New York Rangers recalled key forward before the Playoffs.
Keystone Press

The New York Rangers announced this morning that they’ve recalled forward Taylor Beck from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL.

Acquired by the Rangers from the Edmonton Oilers at the NHL trade deadline for forward Justin Fontaine, the 25 year-old has been a point producing machine in the AHL this season. In 54 games split between the Wolf Pack and the Bakersfield Condors, Beck has managed 19 goals and 63 points. He’s second in league scoring, so Rangers fans should be eager to see what he can do at the NHL level.

Just yesterday, Beck was named an AHL First Team All-Star and it’s expected that he’ll factor into the league’s annual awards ceremony this summer as well. Of course, for Beck he’d rather set his sights on the ultimate prize and stick with the Rangers throughout the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs. Whether he can contribute and stick around remains to be seen, but Rangers fans should be pleased with the depth of their organization at such a critical point of the season.
