BREAKING: The New York Rangers sent player back to Hartford

In advance of their first round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens, the New York Rangers have announced that they’ve assigned forward Taylor Beck to the AHL’s Hartford Wolfpack.

Beck tore up the AHL this season with 19 goals in 63 points in just 54 games this season split between the Hartford Wolfpack and Bakersfield Condors. When he was acquired by the Rangers from the Edmonton Oilers at the NHL trade deadline for forward Justin Fontaine Rangers fans had hoped that they’d get a look at Beck in a Rangers uniform. Unfortunately, he’s only factored into two games for the big club since being acquired, going pointless with a -2 rating.

And for fans who think the Rangers may be sending Beck to the AHL for a playoff run…well the Wolfpack are dead last in the league. So, unless the Rangers sustain an injury during their playoff run, fans may have seen the last of Taylor Beck in a blue shirt.
