The Winnipeg Jets have recalled a goaltender.

The Winnipeg Jets have announced today that they’ve called up goaltender Eric Comrie from the AHL’s Manitoba Moose. The call-up comes on the heels of the young netminder’s 35 save, first star performance victory last night against the Grand Rapids Griffins.

It’s been speculated that Michael Hutchinson suffered a hand injury in last night’s 5-2 victory over the St Louis Blues. If that's indeed the case and Comrie suits up for the Jets, he'll become the fourth goaltender to see game action with the Jets this season.

The Jets, who are loaded with offensive talent, have been one of the league’s biggest disappointments this season, thanks largely in part to inconsistent goaltender. It was expected that the highly-touted Connor Hellebuyck would finally provide the Jets with solid goaltending after several sub-par seasons with Ondrej Pavelec between the pipes. To his credit, Hellebuyck did start 55 games this season but his 2.93 GAA and .906 Sv% prove that he was too inconsistent for the Jets to gain any real traction this season.

Comrie hasn’t been much better than his NHL counterparts at the AHL level this season, his 2.98 GAA and .906 Sv% leave a lot to be desired. However, Jets fans can pin their hopes on him at least showing some promise during his short promotion
