Breaking: The worst is confirmed for Crawford
KeyStone Press

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that they have placed Corey Crawford onto injured reserve today, meaning he will be out for a minimum of one week, as per CBA rules.

They subsequently called up goaltender Jean-Francois Berube from the AHL.

Crawford is 11-7-2 this season, and has posted impressive individual statistics as seen above, putting himself once again among the elite goalies in the NHL.

Berube, who was signed by the Blackhawks as an unrestricted free agent this summer, is a respectable 6-6-0 in Rockford this season.

Anton Forsberg will likely get the nod for most games as Crawford recovers from an undisclosed injury - he finished Thursday night's game against the Dallas Stars and didn't look injured, so it's unknown as of yet what he's dealing with.
