Breaking: Things go from bad to worse for Wild

Doomed? Cursed? What’s the word we’re looking for here?

The Minnesota Wild have announced that defenseman Jared Spurgeon is out of the team’s lineup with a groin injury.

The 28-year-old blue liner will miss the Wild’s upcoming games against the Vegas Golden Knights tomorrow and the St. Louis Blues on Saturday. Whether he’s back in time for the Wild’s California road trip next week however, remains to be seen.

Surgeon will be sorely missed on the Wild’s backend as he’s been sensational this year, putting up three goals and 15 points in just 23 games. He joins a long list of Wild players who have missed significant time this season due to injury, including Landon Ferraro, Nino Niederreiter, Charlie Coyle, Marcus Foligno, Mikael Granlund and Zach Parise.

Again... doomed? Cursed? When will this team FINALLY get their full lineup in place?
