Breaking: Top 10 pick in this years draft sent back down to junior.

There are going to be a lot of disappointing fans in Montreal today.

According to a breaking news report from TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie, the Canadiens have made the decision to send defenseman Mikhail Sergachev back down to junior after he played just three games as a member of the organizations NHL squad.

The 18 year old Russian was one of the team's big hopes for the season, at least among the fan base, and while he can still technically be called up for six more games before burning a year of his entry level deal, based on comments from Lavoie is sounds like this might be it for Sergachev in the NHL this season barring any major injuries on the blue line.

Obviously as a top 10 pick in the draft expectations are extremely high, but defenseman often develop a little slower than forwards, so at 18 this is something he will have plenty of time to bounce back from.
