Breaking: Top prospect cracks Nashville opening night roster
Keystone Press

The Nashville Predators will have a young defenseman in their opening night roster when they’ll face the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. With Ryan Ellis injury that will keep him out of the action until January, youngster Samuel Girard will begin the season in Nashville.

Girard, 19, was drafted 47th overall by the Predators in 2016. In three seasons with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL, Girard played 190 games, registering 192 points, and added 33 points in 33 playoff games.
