The Kontinental Hockey League had a great message this morning for New York Rangers fans.

It has been revealed this morning that forward Vitali Kravtsov will make the jump to the NHL ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Fans across the hockey world expected the annoucement to come soon after the 19-year-old winger posted an emotional goodbye on his Instagram to thank his KHL club, Chelyabinsk Traktor.

Kravtsov was selected ninth overall by the Rangers at the 2018 NHL Draft but had to return to Russia to see out the remainder of his contract, which expired on Tuesday. He is now expected to be part of the rebuilding phase in the Big Apple.

He will bring size and strength to the Rangers' lineup after he put together a solid KHL season, in which he notched 21 points in 50 games and managed two helpers in four playoff contests.

The Rangers are certainly building up a strong roster for the upcoming season after acquiring the talented, young defenseman, Adam Fox from the Carolina Hurricanes.

Exciting news!
