Breaking: Trouble for Karlsson at practice?

Uh oh. This doesn't look good for the Sens.

As the Ottawa Senators prepare for game 1 of the Eastern Conference championships against the Pittsburgh Penguins, their biggest concern has to be the health of their captain and top defenseman Erik Karlsson.

Karlsson has been an MVP candidate this postseason and can control the game like no other individual in the NHL, that’s why news from this morning’s practice has to be of grave concern to Sens fans. TSN reporter Steve Lloyd reported earlier today that while Karlsson did attend Sens practice, he left the ice almost immediately. Uh oh. Not good.

Karlsson has already admitted that he’s been playing with two hairline fractures in his left heel and has been seen limping and wearing a walking boot on off days throughout the postseason. Despite the obvious pain that he’s been in, the superstar blue liner says “well, that’s the fun part of this sport, it’s gonna hurt and it’s not gonna be easy. We’re not even close to being done.”

Talk about a warrior. This is what the Stanley Cup playoffs are all about.
