The Montreal Canadiens called up forwards Michael McCarron and Nikita Scherbak from the Laval Rocket (AHL), the team announced on Sunday. Both were out of the Rocket's lineup for Sunday's game against the Providence Bruins. 

McCarron, 22, was drafted 25th overall by the Canadiens in 2013. The American forward played 51 one games in the NHL, registering seven points and 78 penalty minutes. He played one playoff game last season, without registering a point. In the AHL, he registered 61 points in 96 games. So far this season, he had four points in six AHL games.

Scherbak, 21, was drafted 26th overall in 2014. He scored one goal in three games played with Montreal last season. In 120 games played in the AHL, he registered 73 points. He had nine points in six games with the Rocket this year.
