We have a trade in the National Hockey League!
A report from Sportsnet insider Chris Johnston has revealed that the Anaheim Ducks have traded forward Michael Sgarbossa to the Florida Panthers in exchnage for forward Logan Shaw in a player for player deal.
Michael Sgarbossa, an undrafted 24-year-old center, has seen NHL action this season appearing in 9 games for the Anaheim Ducks and picking up two assists and no goals over that stretch. He has a plus minus rating of -2 thus far this season.
Shaw, 24-year-old winger who is a former Panthers' third round pick, has yet to crack the Panthers roster this season playing all 13 of his games with the American Hockey League's Springfield Thunderbirds. He has 4 goals and 2 assists over that stretch and is a plus minus of -1 on the season.
Not a huge deal by any stretch, and one likely motivated by a need for depth from each team at the respective position of the player they just acquired.
