Buffalo Sabres forward Matt Moulson and Arizona Coyotes defenseman Joel Hanley have been placed on waivers this afternoon.

Moulson is unlikely to go claimed due to his $5 million annual salary. The former three-time, 30+ goal scorer has gone pointless this season. The 34-year-old’s best days are clearly behind him, so expect him to fade into obscurity if he manages to pass through waivers successfully.

As for Hanley, the 26-year-old defenseman has played just four games for the Coyotes this season, also going pointless. He’s played 27 games for the Montreal Canadiens over the past two seasons, but has yet to establish himself as a regular NHL blue liner. Again, expect him to pass through waivers successfully.
