Breaking: Undrafted rookie gets an NHL contract after 34 points in 36 games.

Sometimes it pays off to never give up and keep working hard.

Despite being passed over by every single team in the National Hockey League, and multiple times at that, on Monday 22-year-old Mitch Hults signed a two-year entry-level-contract with the Anaheim Ducks, joining the ranks of the NHL.

The young center garnered some attention at the NHL level after a strong season with Lake Superior State University of the NCAA, one in which he record 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points in 36 games.  Hults also had a plus minus rating of +1 in his most recent season.

It seems more than likely that he will have to show off his skills at the American Hockey League level prior to joining the Ducks, but there has been no official announcement in that regard as of yet.
