The Vegas Golden Knights were completely humiliated by the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday in the first game of the series between the two teams in a 5-2 loss in front of a loud San Jose crowd.

The Knights might have found a way to shut them up as it seems they have called for reinforcement.

Russia's Nikita Gusev is expected join the Golden Knights for the remainder of the playoffs, according to Sport-Express reporter Igor Eronko.

At this year's trade deadline, Gusev landed in the hands of the Golden Knights thanks to the Tampa Bay Lightning, who traded over his rights along with a 2017 secnd-round pick and 2018 fourth-round pick just to select Jason Garrison from them.

The 26-year-old has had a career season in the KHL and could be the offensive boost Vegas badly needs to challenge the Sharks in this intense Western rivalry.

Gusev, who has averaged over a point-per-game for the last four seasons in the KHL, saw his season come to an end in Russia when his team, St. Petersburg SKA, was eliminated by CSKA Moscow in the semifinal.

He collected 19 points in 18 playoff games.

Vegas needs him and this is exciting news for the team moving forward in this first round series.
