The Vegas Golden Knights officially placed defenseman and de facto captain Deryk Engelland on the injury reserve yesterday. He’ll be out of the team’s lineup for at least seven days as he attempts to recover from an arm injury.

Deryk Engelland has officially been placed on IR, which essentially confirms Alex Tuch is playing. Gallant will likely confirm it 100% in a few minutes.

As mentioned above, forward Alex Tuch did indeed make his season debut for the Golden Knights last night in a shootout loss to the division rival Vancouver Canucks. The 22 year old Tuch went pointless in the game, but did look good on the team’s top line with William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault. So long as that trio finds its mojo, the Golden Knights’ offence output should begin to improve.

As for Engelland, the 36 year old Vegas local has played six games for the Golden Knights this season, going pointless in all six outings. The team’s most veteran leader and its de facto captain had a career high five goals and 23 points in 79 games last season.
