The Vegas Golden Knights have announced that they’ve officially hired Mike Kelly as an assistant coach. Kelly was formerly an assistant with the Florida Panthers under Golden Knights head coach Gerard Gallant. The two will be reunited in the Nevada desert this fall.

"We are very proud of the addition of Mike to our team's coaching staff," said Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee. "His experience as a coach at various level within professional hockey and as a recent assistant coach under Gerard with the Panthers made him a well-rounded candidate. His familiarity with Gerard's coaching style and practices will make this a seamless transition for our club."

Kelly has also worked with the Vancouver Canucks as an assistant coach and has spent considerable time coaching junior hockey in the CHL.
