Breaking: Vegas’ Marchessault earns top NHL honors
Keystone Press

Vegas Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault has been named the NHL’s First Star of the week for November 20th-26th.

The 26-year-old French Canadian had three goals and nine points in six games last week, powering Vegas to a perfect 3-0 record along the way. Acquired from the Florida Panthers in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, Marchessault has proven his doubters wrong this season, scoring eight goals and 21 points in just 19 games so far this season.

Expect to hear Marchessault’s name a lot more as we draw closer to the NHL’s February 26th trade deadline. With a contract that expires this offseason and top line production, Marchessault could be the perfect deadline rental. Unless of course, Vegas decides to stay the course and make a remarkable inaugural season playoff push.
