It appears that the Montreal Canadiens intend to make a trade, and more importantly they intend to make it very soon indeed.
Sportsnet's Eric Engels, a Montreal Canadiens insider, is now reporting that the Canadiens intend to trade Nathan Beaulieu by the time Saturday rolls around, and while Engles didn't put a guarantee on it, he used some very strong wording.
"Have to think there's a very strong chance Nate Beaulieu is traded by Saturday."
Beaulieu has been a staple of the Canadiens blue line for the past three seasons, but the expansion draft is creating a number of headaches for National Hockey League general managers, and Beaulieu appears to be the odd man out as far as Habs GM Marc Bergevin is concerned.
No word yet on who the Habs are currently discussing the Beaulieu trade with.
