Breaking: Veteran defenseman confirms he won't be back with his team next season.

In a major announcement veteran defenseman Michael Del Zotto has seemingly confirmed his time in Philadelphia is at an end.

"Had short and sweet meeting with Hexy. Team is moving in a different direction, which I knew. But I loved my time here. Tough day today," said Del Zotto.

If that weren't enough of a confirmation, Del Zotto also took the time to thank the Philadelphia faithful on various forms of social media including Instagram and Twitter.

There are no signs however that this is the end for Del Zotto in the National Hockey League, and he will be a free agent come this summer.
