The Edmonton Oilers have made what was a necessary roster move, but it may end up costing them one of their defensemen.

On Friday 24-year-old Oscar Klefbom made his return to the Oilers. but the former first round picks return also forced the Oilers to place one of their veterans on waivers.

According to an official report from the Oilers organization 29-year-old defenseman Eric Gryba has been placed on waivers and is now free to be claimed by any other team in the National Hockey League.

Gryba made be a particularly intriguing option for a number of teams across the league as well, he not only serve as a solid depth defenseman on the blue line, he also comes with a very reasonable cap hit of just $900,000. Even more appealing for some teams will be the fact that Gryba has another year left on his deal after this season, and it comes with that very same cap hit.

He has appeared in 21 games for the Oilers this season, he has no goals and 2 assists and plus mines rating of +4 on the season.
