BREAKING: Veteran Forward Clears Waivers

Long-serving forward set for return after clearing waivers

After a highly shocking move by the Detroit Red Wings yesterday which saw the organization place long-serving veteran forward Drew Miller on waivers, the 32-year-old has cleared them moments ago.

Miller will head over to the Grand Rapids Griffins, where it is unclear just how long he will be spending time with the team's American Hockey League affiliate. The reasons regarding his waiving are also unspecified, as one of the organization's fan favorites could quickly find himself back with the big boys due to a mounting number of injuries to forwards:

Notably, injuries to Thomas Vanek and Dylan Larkin, who are both expected to miss at least Tuesday night's Atlantic Division matchup versus the Boston Bruins, could inadvertently force Miller back into the lineup as Steve Ott is currently nursing a shoulder injury while remaining on the injured reserve.

In 34 games played thus far, Miller has recorded five goals and six points while maintaining a minus-10 rating.
