After doing a great deal of bouncing around over the past several seasons, it seems like veteran goaltender Al Montoya may have finally found a home for himself.

On Monday a report from Spoortsnet's Kyle Bukauskas has revealed that Montoya and the Montreal Canadiens have agreed to a new two-year-deal, the financial details have not been officially reported. There are several outlets reporting that the deal is worth a total of $2.13 million, but there has been no concrete corroboration of that number.

This deal serves a clear purpose for the Montreal Canadiens they now have a backup goalie on a multi-year deal. That will allow them to expose Montoya to the National Hockey League's Expansion Draft for the Las Vegas Golden Knights franchise, and without that move it would have been Carey Price in that position, something the Habs weren't about to allow.

Montoya has played in 11 games for the Habs already this season, and that number is destined to grow over the next two NHL seasons.
