Breaking: Veteran NHLer named to US Olympic roster
Keystone Press

According to a report from TSN reporter and NHL insider Darren Dreger, veteran NHL defenseman James Wisniewski will be among those named to Team USA’s Olympic roster later today.

The 33-year-old has played 23 games in the German DEL league this season, putting up eight goals and 36 points in just 23 games. Last season he split the campaign between the KHL and AHL, but the veteran can draw upon his 552 career NHL games for experience.

The official USA roster will be unveiled during the first intermission of this afternoon’s Winter Classic between the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers, but don’t be surprised when Wisniewski takes center stage as one of USA’s “biggest” names.
