A veteran National Hockey League player has suffered a major injury.

While we do not know the nature of the injury at this time, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times is now reporting that Los Angeles Kings forward Marion Gaborik had surgery and will be out for a very long time indeed.

'He did have a procedure and he’s out an extended period of time,' said Rob Blake as per the L.A. Times. 'He’s not going to be healthy until into training camp, past that.'

Gaborik has had his fair share of struggle in the past few seasons, failing to play a full 82 game season since 2011-2012 with the New York Rangers. A report of a major injury at this stage of his career has to be a huge concern for the Kings and their fans.
