Breaking: Veteran of nearly 800 NHL games has been cut from the team!

A veteran of 11 National Hockey League seasons now finds himself without a job late in training camp.

According to a breaking news report from Mark Stepneski, writer for the Dallas Stars' official website, NHL veteran R.J. Umberger has been cut from his professional tryout offer. 

This is a huge setback for Umberger who was trying to resurrect his NHL career after sitting out all of the 2016-2017 NHL season following the buyout of his contract by the Philadelphia Flyers, and one has to wonder if this may in fact be the end of his career as an NHL forward.

Umberger has appeared in a total of 779 NHL games and he recorded 182 goals and 222 assists for a total of 392 career points.
