First trade was career changing for Simmonds

There are some changes in an athlete's career that can just turn it upside down. This is what happened to Wayne Simmonds, affectionately called Wayne Train, when he was traded from the Los Angeles Kings to the Philadelphia flyers on his 4th season. It may be correlated, but that year he just exploded with 28 goals and 21 assists in 82 games.

"I had the chance to land in a great organization where I felt home right from the start. It (Philadelphia) is a great city and the Flyers were known to be a hard working team which fitted perfectly with my style of playing. I guess it was the perfect situation for me" said Simmonds to the insider Jonathan Bernier.

Naturally affiliates to the Montreal Canadiens

It's no secret that the Montreal Canadiens' GM Marc Bergevin has always been a great fan of powerforward like Wayne Simmonds. In an unsuccessful attempt to attract UFA powerforward Milan Lucic, rumor kept going around Montreal that Bergevin might take a shot at Simmonds as he always loved his style of playing. Add to this, that the Montreal Canadien is contending this year and might be all in as their window is slowly closing by Carey Price's next contract extension.

When asked about his natural affiliation with Montreal, Simmonds answered "Some members of my family live in Montreal. Rumors keep sending me there and to be honest it's common I receive photoshopped pictures with my face in a Habs Jersey which obviously makes me laugh".

What does he really think of those rumors?

“It's part of the business..” said Simmonds
