Breaking: We have a goalie trade in the National Hockey League!

We have a completely shocking announcement in the middle of the National Hockey League playoffs.

The Chicago Blackhawks have just announced a stunning trade, catching absolutely everyone by surprise, and they will be sending goaltender Scott Darling to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a third round draft pick in the 2017 NHL draft.

There were absolutely no rumors about this deal being in the works, and in fact Darling has shown himself to be one of the better backup goaltenders in the NHL making this move an even bigger surprise. Darling's most recent season saw him appear in 32 games for Chicago where he recorded a very respectable 0.924 save percentage and 2.38 goals against average. 

That being said, this may be the first casualty of the upcoming expansion draft for the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
