After signing Evegeny Kuznetsov to an 8 years contract, the Capitals unloaded a good chunk of their cap space tonight.
Marcus Johansson is going to the Devils in exchange of future picks.
Johasson carried a 4.5M$ contract and his departure frees up a bit of space in the Capitals lineup, although there are still a lot of pieces to put in place. The centerman earned 58 points in 82 games last season and has been steadily improving through his 7 years in Washington.
He will now join a rebuilding Devils and might add a nice experience touch to their growing roster.
